"Together again" by Catriona E J Millican

He thought he'd lost her. But she was saved, and they're together again.

A pair of characters from a story that will, most likely, never be published because of one fatal flaw. He (on the right with the staff) is Fara, son of Rek, the chief of the clan, and she is Terin, his wife. Fara appears elsewhere in the gallery, though not so well drawn. 

This is by way of celebrating that I wrote the story, and that even despite that fatal flaw, I'm really proud of it - it was 55,000 words long, and I actually finished it - that I actually sent it to a publisher (though without hope due to aforementoned fatal flaw) - and that I really, really like these characters. Maybe I'll write another story about them someday, though nothing occurs to me right now. But I think this is the start of something. Because I've hardly ever finished a story before, let alone one so long - it's really a short novel - and now that I know I can do it, who knows where it'll end? The road goes ever on and on...

And one day, when I have a studio in which to write and daub, this picture will go on the wall, hopefully as the first of many portraits of characters which star in completed stories.
