SciFi and Fantasy Art I can draw dragons by Catriona E J Millican

I like to draw dragons. And I had a lot of scales in my system that day. I particularly like his mischievous face, and his front feet.

Red and black ballpoint on computer paper.

By the way, if you are thinking of adopting my ballpoint pen sketching method, Bic pens are best. Don't ever use Staedtlers - they spot, give an uneven line, and will leak in your pocket. A medium nib is better than a fine one, as fine nibs get clogged easily and can give broken lines. When sketching with a black or blue ballpoint, I use a red or green ballpoint for construction, rather than a pencil. The red or green are lighter and tend to fade into the background - it is easy enough to choose to see the black or blue and ignore the red. If you want to tidy up a drawing with pencil construction lines, you have to be very sure the ballpoint ink has dried before using a rubber, and even so it can smudge and make the drawing dirty. If you use red biro, you can scan it in and use an image-editing program to remove the red very easily. Grey pencil lines are more difficult to remove digitally.
