And lo, I have created a new race of beings, and they shall be called...
...something, anyway. Haven't quite figured out what.
I was writing a story in which these little guys were bit-part characters (initially just described as "hairy figures") when suddenly, in the middle of a scene, one of them jumped up and developed a personality. Then another one did it. Then they started to grow a backstory. So I began to draw them, and they developed an anatomy all of their own, with funny, cute, freaky little faces. I'm not sure whether they look more like mice or goblins, so for now I'm calling them furry little gnomes. I'll come up with a better name in due course.
This isn't really a sculpture, more a kind of 3D sketch in plasticine, so I can firm up my ideas as to the head and body shape. He is crouching in what my husband thought was a rather malevolent pose, but that is purely because if I make him stand up or even sit up straight, he falls apart (due to plasticine).
I have also done a head, and will upload some drawings when I have some good ones. Perhaps one day I'll be able to reveal a backstory, but there is a slim - very slim - nay, downright skinny - chance of it being published - I'm going to have a go at least - and until I have a firm rejection letter I don't want to give away any of the storyline. It may one day form the basis of my fame.
Greem plasticine, no armature.
